About Us
Once upon a time...
When Mouse to Minx first emerged in September 2005 in a triumphant blaze of cup cakes and nostalgic sweets, it immediately set itself apart.
The small but perfectly formed shop made its mark in Bristol as a delightfully "English Eccentric” lifestyle boutique.
With a traditional tea shop interior, the original fashion, accessories, jewellery and items for the home included a fine collection of vintage china, books and dresses.
Products at Mouse to Minx have always been sourced for their quality and originality, and to reflect current trends and seasonal themes. All this is supported by the 'cast list' of Daphne, Dulcie and Doris who each bring their own character to the running of the business and the content on this website.
Since moving to our current HQ and shop at 7 Christmas Steps, Bristol, in 2006, we have extended our selection across all departments and we are delighted to report that we continue to receive high praise from our visitors, customers and the press.
Our plans for 2009 include spending a bit more time on our online magazine and we will be bringing you an even wider range of products as we widen our sources into bringing you content and connections to some wonderful retailers who we love and who we think you will too. As times are going to be lean, we will stop retailing ourselves but still bring you the best on the web to suit your Mouse to Minx lifestyle.
If you want to be kept up to date with new and musings from the Mouse to Minx news desk, you can be alerted with a short but exquisitely crafted e-mail by joining the Minx Club.
The Mouse to Minx brand
We interrupt this article to bring you the following important message. It may seem a bit legal, but we are keen to protect our interests.
About our name Mouse to Minx is a registered trademark under the Trademarks Act 1994. This means that the owner of a registered trademark (us) has exclusive rights in the trade mark which are considered to be infringed if the trade mark is used by another party without the proprietor’s (our) consent. In fact we are frightfully accommodating at the best of times. Even Daphne can be really quite cuddly if you get her on a good day: she just can't bear copycats! Content of this site The design, content and images published on this site are also subject to copyright protection. Where permission for use is required to publish or reproduce all or any part of this site, the sources and copyright status should be acknowledged. The permission to reproduce copyright images does not extend to any material on this site which is identified as being the copyright of a third party. Authorisation to reproduce such material would need to be obtained from the copyright holders concerned. If this all sounds complicated, just e-mail Daphne to check. At Please do contact us to request an image to publish and we will ensure you have the correct named party for crediting. Then we and our lovely writers, suppliers and photographers will all be content, and live happily ever after.
We are being 'imitated' (copied) by a number of retailers in the Bristol area which is unfortunate (some of whom have sent scouts into our shop to 'research' and are now stocking the same supplier). Because of this we are keeping a watchful eye on events. It is regrettable that this is happening as we believe originality is what the buying customer enjoys.
We therefore politely ask you not to use, reproduce, imitate or in anyway misrepresent the Mouse to Minx brand. We are more than happy to talk to anyone who wants to know more: we'd love to help! We can provide copy, photos, interviews and products to our journalist colleagues.
